Toast to the Newly Weds Card

It has been a long time! I’ve had so much going on and taking advantage of some free time to do some other personal projects. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post more finished work on either this blog or my from this point forward. Now, on to the main event!

I enjoyed this a lot. I don’t know what about it, but I feel like it was a little different than what I have done in the past. First off, I layered the cardstock more. Something I find myself doing is focus more on the main piece rather than the body of the card. So, I’ve been trying to layer more and use borders. I find that it enhances the look of the card. I’ve seen that in other cards too.

I made this card for a dear family friend’s wedding. She is about the same age as my younger brother. Both our families grew up together, and we were all very excited to hear she was getting married. Time sure flies! Sometimes I still think of her and my younger brother as kids.

I’m still very much an amateur when it comes to crafting and card making, but I’m learning, and hopefully, it shows.

I know I’ve said I would post a Father’s day card and a birthday card but I completely forgot to take a picture of one of them, and well, it’s way past Father’s day. So, we’ll wait until next year haha.

Some more news: I’m taking up calligraphy with brush pens on Skillshare. I like it so far. I’m hoping to do lettering on my cards in the future instead of using stickers. Here is a code good for two months free if you want it to try it out.

I’m posting a little of my progress in my story on Instagram. So, check that out to see how that is going.

EDIT: Oh man. I’m a spaz. I thought I had this scheduled to post a while ago and, for some reason, I didn’t bother to check it. Sorry for the late post!
