Valentine Hearts Card

This is very late but better late than never! Hopefully, from here onwards, I’ll keep to my self-given schedule of every other Wednesday.

Happy belated Valentines! I hope you all had a lovely holiday with loved ones. My family always has a nice time. My mom makes a delicious dinner and gives us little gifts. Never really thought of Valentines as strictly a couples holiday.  My mom always makes every holiday special for my family.

Valentine Hearts

Now, this card may seem simple but I assure you, it was not. In my head, I thought this was a simple enough design and something easy enough I could do quickly. Each heart was cut separately then positioned as shown. I decided to put a lighter pink to be the smaller heart because it would stand out better with the darker shade. I figured it balanced out the light colored paper I used. Which is, by the way, from a fun new cardstock book I just bought from COLORBÖK called Marble. The backdrop came from their book Bright Splash, another book I recently bought. I’m in love with this look! I look forward to using it more in the future.

Why it didn’t occur to me that I would need to glue each individual piece of tissue paper by hand? I don’t know. I got caught up in it all. I’ve made smaller designs with tissue paper that was quick but I apparently didn’t learn anything from when I made the dress cards last time.

I made two of these. One for my supervisor and the other for my manager.  Both had different base cardstock. They doubled up as thank you cards too but cause these two ladies have been amazing and so patient and supportive. Makes working so much better knowing they got my back.

I  hope you all can forgive the uneven cutting job I did with the card. I made these both pretty late at night. As I usually do. I don’t catch a lot of stuff that late at night and I make just as many mistakes. I like to think I cleverly hide them most of the time.

Look forward to the next few I have coming up. They are going to be fun!
