Elephant Wishes Card

Last month I went to my cousin’s baby shower and it was a lot of fun. The food was amazing, the decor was adorable, and the games were fun too. It was really great to see all my cousins again. We are all so busy now that we don’t have many opportunities to get together other than big events like this. I’m grateful I was able to see them all then.

Now, I call this post elephant wishes because, one, the elephant and two, this card had mine and my mom’s well wishes to my cousin and her husband.

The cardstock I used as the base came from COLORBÖK’s book called Bright Days and is textured paper. The patterned paper I used is also from COLORBÖK called Brights Photo Mats. The rest is white cardstock and tissue paper. And of course my little cheat, sticker letterings.

I drew the elephant and I’m actually very happy how it turned out. The umbrella also came out very well I was so happy the shape of the umbrella came through. I was afraid the tissue paper was going to hide the fun detail of the edges.

Again, a lot of tissue paper I had to individually glue by hand onto this card. I guess I will never learn. It is worth the work in the end.

In case you haven’t noticed. I’ve been using a lot of paper from COLORBÖK. Both as a backdrop and for the cards themselves. That is because I bought a whole bunch in February when I was running low on my cardstock. I don’t remember what brand I used before but it wasn’t being sold anymore so I guess this will be my new goto for now. It’s been fun working with textured and more fun patterns.
